WELLS FARGO AWARDED A $100,000 GRANT FOR AN ENTREPRENEURIAL TECHNICAL ASSITANTE 2008 - 2009 PROGRAM 

Santa Ana, CA– The Small Business Financial Development Corporation of Orange County (SBFDOC ) and Hispanic Business Consultants (HBC) have been awarded a $100,000 Grant by Wells Fargo to serve the Spanish-speaking population in Orange County, California with technical assistance on entrepreneurial training, access to business loans and self-motivation.

The SBFDOC, in partnership with HBC will provide long-term training and counseling on business planning, financial sources, management and marketing issues to assist and benefit small businesses owned by Latinos. The seminars and workshops will target both existing businesses wanting to expand their customer base and start-ups.

The program offers clients access to a multitude of services including one-on-one technical assistance, business and self-motivation seminars, enrollment in the 8-week Entrepreneurial Training Program “Creating Your Successful Business I and II”, business planning, technical assistance, financial management skills, loan packaging, post- loan technical assistance and access to a wide array of resources. All services are offered in Spanish.

The classes will be presented through different cities in Orange County started with a free seminar (How to Start a Business), in the City of Anaheim on Saturday, May 10. All services are free of charge and seminars are open to the public, but a limited number of scholarships will be made available to selected participants for the CTNE I & II 8-week entrepreneurial training courses.  
SBFDOC and HBC’s goal is to provide Latino business owners with the management, marketing and financial skills necessary for their companies to survive and succeed in today's challenging business environment and the Wells Fargo Technical Assistance Grant will aid in that process by assisting Hispanic owned businesses and start-ups survive and grow through technical assistance, training and guidance.
